No CD Drive and No DVD Drive!
I suspect the Chipset is the cause but have no way to uninstall that. The drives don't show in Explorer or My Computer. In Device Manager the show with exclamation marks. "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" I have tried uninstalling the drives

Have a look at MS KB314060 "You can no longer access the CD I'm getting an error under it in device manager saying: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. the driver may be corrupted or missing (code 39).

Both DVD-ROM and DVD +-RW devices used to work before - now both show status 'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing ( Code 39 ) Cannot go on l;ine from new PC to check solution. Also when checking driver details states latest driver installed.
